Mischa Barton will take the lead in "Walled In," a French-Canadian thriller.
Joining "The O.C." veteran in the cast are Deborah Kara Unger and Cameron Bright.
French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner will make his English-language debut on "Walled In," which will begin production on Oct. 22 in Saskatchewan.
According to Variety, Barton will play a demolition company rep -- sounds believable so far -- who supervises the destruction of a building only to find some unfortunate corpses hidden in the walls by a killer.
"Walled In" will be the first film financed and produced by Leomax Entertainment. The film will aim for theatrical distribution, but a pact has already been signed to take the $8 million production to Starz.
Since departing "The O.C.," Barton worked on Roland Joffe's "Finding t.A.T.u." before starting work opposite Bruce Willis in "Assassination of a High School President." "Virgin Territory," an adaptation of "The Decameron" starring Barton, Hayden Christensen and Tim Roth has been sitting on the shelf for two years.
Unger ("Crash," "The Game") was last seen in "Silent Hill," while Bright's busy 2006 included "X-Men: The Last Stand," "Ultraviolet" and "Running Scared."
