The James Bond franchise is returning this week without Pierce Brosnan, but the former 007 can't leave the spy world behind.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan will produce and star in "Spy vs. Stu" for New Line.
Keith Mitchell and Allie Dvorin wrote the original script about a guy named Stu who plans to propose to his girlfriend on an island vacation, only to get unexpected competition from a super spy (Brosnan) who just saved the world.
The project will eventually have a director, we assume.
Brosnan appeared in four hit James Bond films, but the actor also has a cottage industry spoofing the Bond persona, with darkly comic spy turns in films including "The Tailor of Panama" and "The Matador."
