The MTV show that chronicled the run-up to Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra's wedding was called "'Til Death Do Us Part."
Yeah, not so much.
Electra, 34, has filed for divorce from her guitar-playing husband, a few weeks after the couple announced they were "amicably separating." The court papers cite the catch-all "irreconcilable differences" as grounds for the divorce, several news outlets say.
Navarro, 39, and Electra married in November 2003 and have no kids together. Both had been married previously -- Electra famously, and briefly, to basketball player Dennis Rodman.
Their divorce proceedings are the latest evidence of an MTV jinx on couples who chronicle their marriages and relationships on the cable network. No-longer-"Newlyweds" Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson completed their divorce in June, and earlier this week Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker filed for divorce from wife Shanna Moakler. They starred in MTV's "Meet the Barkers" last year.
Navarro, former guitarist for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, co-hosts CBS' "Rock Star: Supernova" and plays with the band The Panic Channel. Electra was most recently seen in "Scary Movie 4" and "Date Movie."Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
