The American version of the Aardman Animation smash "Creature Comforts" will finally have its premiere this summer on CBS.
The network announced on Wednesday (April 18) that "Creature Comforts" will premiere on Monday, June 4.
As was the case with the original British commercials, short film and ITV1 series, the American "Creature Comforts" will combine audio interviews with ordinary citizens with stop-motion animation of anthropomorphic animals.
Nick Park won an Oscar for the short film, long before the unique Aardman style became familiar to American audiences on films like "Chicken Run" and "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit."
CBS has had "Creature Comforts" in development for some time. The network announced last February that the show was going into production on seven episodes, but due to the labor-intensive process, it was always intended for a midseason 2006-07 slot.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
