Michael Chiklis has booked a key supporting role in the DreamWorks thriller "Eagle Eye" opposite Shia LaBeouf.
"Eagle Eye" is already in production with LaBeouf's "Disturbia" director D.J. Caruso at the helm.
Most recently drafted by Hillary Seitz, the film revolves around a single mom (Michelle Monaghan) and a young man (LaBeouf) who are framed as terrorists and become part of a cell planning to carry out a high profile assassination.
A number of folks are on their trail including characters played by Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Chiklis will play the secretary of defense. We aren't sure, but we suspect his character may be opposed to terrorist cells operating in the United States.
In addition to his long stint as Vic Mackey on "The Shield," Chiklis is probably best know from his work in the two "Fantastic Four" movies (or, perhaps, as the star of "Daddio").Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
