'Star Trek's' Chris Pine wants to join 'The A-Team'

The new James T. Kirk wants to beam straight into another television adaptation.

Chris Pine, who plays young Kirk in the upcoming "Star Trek" movie, wants to be part of "The A-Team," according to MTV. In an interview with the cable network, Pine says he's been lobbying "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan for a role.

Pine's favorite? Howlin' Mad Murdock, the team's reality-challenged pilot (originally played by Dwight Schultz in the NBC series).

"Murdock is my man," he told MTV. "I love Murdock."

The "Trek" star may have an inside track: Carnahan and Pine worked together on the 2007 action movie "Smokin' Aces."

Pine's name is also being thrown around for the title role in an upcoming movie about the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern.
