'Beyond a Reasonable Doubt'

Barely shown in U.S. theaters despite the presence of Michael Douglas, director-screenwriter Peter Hyams' ("Capricorn One") remake of a mid-1950s melodrama casts the Oscar-winning actor-producer as a less-than-ethical prosecutor.

To catch the attorney at his own game, a young reporter (Jesse Metcalfe) sets himself up as a murder suspect, but he ultimately may be too clever for his own good. Amber Tamblyn also stars as another lawyer caught between the two men. *** (PG-13: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
