'The Kids Are All Right'

Zap2It

Julianne Moore and Annette Bening have been mentioned as likely Oscar contenders for their fine work in this smart comedy-drama from director and co-writer Lisa Cholodenko ("High Art").

The stars play longtime partners whose children ( Mia Wasikowska, the screen's most recent "Alice in Wonderland," and Josh Hutcherson) are intent on finding the sperm donor who is their father ( Mark Ruffalo). When they locate him and unite everyone, the result is mixed emotions for virtually all concerned. DVD extras: three "making-of" documentaries. *** (R: AS, N, P) (Also on Blu-ray)
