Right after Eddie Murphy revealed that he's no longer dating ex-Spice Girl Melanie Brown, his current girlfriend spoke up to set the record straight.
Tracey Edmonds, the ex-wife of singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, says that she's dating the "Nutty Professor" star, reports People.
Edmonds, who's also a film producer, attended the New York premiere of Murphy's latest film "Dreamgirls" with the actor on Monday, Dec. 4. They have been seeing each other "for about a month and a half" and are "very happy. We're having fun."
Murphy chastised a reporter on a Dutch TV program over the weekend for assuming that he was still dating Brown, aka Scary Spice, and added that he wasn't sure that the baby she was carrying was even his. "You're being presumptuous, because we're not together anymore," he said when asked if he was happy about the pregnancy. "And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
Edmonds' 13-year relationship with "Babyface" ended in October 2005. Murphy's divorce from his wife was finalized in April.
Murphy, 45, is already getting Oscar buzz for his role in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls," which opens Friday, Dec. 15, co-starring Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx. His upcoming films include "Norbit" and "Shrek the Third."Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
