OK, we're cheating a little here. But we really couldn't decide between these two ABC comedies, which will air back-to-back on Wednesday nights, is more worthy of your viewing time -- because they both are.
"Modern Family," about three very different branches of the same family, has one of the funniest pilots we've seen in a while, and it boasts a strong cast that includes Ed O'Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Sofia Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. And despite its lame title, "Cougar Town" may have the most potential of any new comedy, thanks in large part to Courteney Cox's fearless performance.
We're just going to go ahead and block out that whole hour on Wednesdays.
