Dodgers clinch fifth consecutive NL West title with 4-2 victory over Giants

'Beverly Hills Cop' (CBS)

Logline: Aaron Foley (Brandon T. Jackson) -- the son of legendary cop Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) -- follows in his father's footsteps busting "criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills." A continuation of the hit comedy movie franchise. Why we're interested: First of all, the show managed to get Murphy on board as a recurring cast member who is reportedly prominently featured in the pilot. (They also brought back Judge Reinhold, for the die-hard fans.) And the behind-the-scenes talent is also promising: "The Shield" and "Last Resort" showrunner Shawn Ryan is the writer-executive producer and Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black," "Pushing Daisies") is directing the pilot. More than just a cheesy nostalgia cash-grab, this could be the snarky kick-in-the-pants CBS' stolid procedural lineup needs. -- Geoff Berkshire, Zap2it
