Quentin Tarantino has put the finishing touches on casting for "Death Proof," the Oscar winning writer-director's contribution to Dimension project "Grindhouse."
Kurt Russell was already announced as the star of "Death Proof," a slasher film that also features Zoe Bell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Jordan Ladd, Rose McGowan, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Marley Shelton, Tracie Thoms and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
In addition to those cast members, Dimension also revealed on Friday (Sept. 8) that Michael Bacall ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"), newcomer Omar Doom and director Eli Roth ("Hostel") will appear.
Tarantino began shooting his "Grindhouse" film in Texas on Aug. 21.
In addition to "Death Proof," "Grindhouse" includes Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror," a zombie flick starring Freddy Rodriguez, Rose McGowan, Josh Brolin, Naveen Andrews, Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Stacy Ferguson, Jeff Fahey and Michael Parks.
At July's San Diego Comic Con, Tarantino and Rodriguez announced that both "Planet Terror" and "Death Proof" -- films based on the directors' beloved '70s exploitation offerings -- will be released in tandem on Friday, April 6.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
