Jodie Foster: Out and proud

"I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago in the stone age," Jodie Foster said in a rambling but also moving speech as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award. She noted she was single, but also thanked her ex, Cydney Bernard, for helping raise their children, thanked her ailing mother and defended her right to privacy. For an iconoclast like Foster, it seemed like just the right note. -- Carina Adly MacKenzie, Zap2it
