NBC is rounding out the cast of its new comedy "Kath & Kim," with John Michael Higgins and Mikey Day signing up for husband duty.
Higgins ("The Break-Up," "A Mighty Wind") and Day (Showtime's "The Underground") will play the spouses of Molly Shannon's and Selma Blair's characters in the remake of the Australian hit. Elsewhere, FOX has cast Jonathan Sadowski ("Live Free or Die Hard") in the drama "Courtroom K," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The prolific Higgins will play Kath's husband, a man who's into speed-walking and facial treatments. He's a regular in Christopher Guest's films and has also appeared in "Evan Almighty," "Fred Claus" and "Wag the Dog." His TV credits include parts on "Ally McBeal," "Arrested Development" and "Boston Legal" and voice work on "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law."
Day is set to play the handsome but somewhat dim husband of Kim (Blair). He was a regular on Damon Wayans' Showtime sketch-comedy show "The Underground" and has guested on "Angel" and "Reno 911."
"Kath & Kim" has already earned a place on NBC's fall schedule, where it will air on Tuesday nights.
At FOX, Sadowski will play a public defender in "Courtroom K," a drama from "House" executive producer and "Donnie Brasco" writer Paul Attanasio. Sadowksi guest-starred on "House" earlier this season and has also appeared in "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Chuck."Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
