Jolie Jumps Aboard Animated 'Panda' Express

Angelina Jolie has decided to make a vocal gig into her first acting job since the May birth of daughter Shiloh.

DreamWorks Animation announced on Monday (July 10) that the Oscar winner will lend her pips to the character of martial arts expert Tigress in the CG comedy "Kung Fu Panda," currently in production with an eye toward a May 2008 release.

Directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne, "Kung Fu Panda" tells the heart-warming story of Po the Panda (Jack Black), a noodle restaurant waiter who dreams of kung fu greatness. When a prophesy names Po as "The One" to save China for evil invaders, a group of five masters must train the lazy panda.

Jolie and Black also vocally co-starred with each other in 2004's animated hit "Shark Tale."

Also providing voices for "Kung Fu Panda" are Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman and Ian McShane.

The next screen appearance for Jolie will be in this December's "The Good Shepherd."
