"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria is set to team up with some familiar funny faces for the comedy "Lower Learning."
According to the industry trade papers, the Anchor Bay and Starz Media release is also set to star Jason Biggs, Kyle Gass ("Tenacious D"), Monica Potter ("Boston Legal") and "Daily Show" veterans Ed Helms and Rob Corddry.
Written and directed by first-timer Mark Lafferty, "Lower Learning" focuses on a school inspector (Longoria) investigating allegations about a shady principal with the help of her cop-turned-vice-principal ex (Biggs).
Shooting on "Lower Learning" will begin later this month. Anchor Bay and Starz seriously think they're going to release the movie in theaters in early 2008, though Anchor Bay is already set to handle home video.
A Golden Globe nominee for "Desperate Housewives," Longoria's big screen credits have included "Harsh Times," "The Sentinel" and the upcoming "Over My Dead Body."
Biggs also appears in "Over My Dead Body," though he's still best know for his leading roles in the main "American Pie" trilogy.
