'MacGyver' remake cobbled together from random items

Stock up on paper clips and bubble gum: "MacGyver" is back.

The television show, which followed action-scientist MacGyver from 1985-1992, is headed to the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While the show sometimes delved into camp with its hero's ability to use found items to get into and out of danger, the movie from New Line is rumored to hew closer to its action roots. Rafaella De Laurentiis, daughter of prolific producer Dino De Laurentiis, will produce.

Richard Dean Anderson made the role of MacGyver famous, most recently parodying it on a commercial during the 2009 Super Bowl. No word on whether Anderson will be involved with the film.
