'ER' Actress Files for Divorce


"ER's" Maura Tierney wants to divorce her husband -- stat.

The 41-year-old actress filed for divorce from actor Billy Morrissette, reports People magazine. According to court papers filed in Los Angeles, Tierney cites irreconcilable differences with her spouse, who's been separated from her since March 7.

The couple met on a blind date in the revolving lounge at the top of the Hollywood Holiday Inn. They've been married 13 years and have no children.

Morrissette, 43, wrote and directed the indie film "Scotland, Pa." in which Tierney also starred. His other credits include parts in "Pump Up the Volume" and "Vegas Vacation" and on "Diagnosis Murder," "Party of Five" and "Mad About You."

Tierney plays Abby Lockhart on NBC's long-running medical drama "ER." She's also known for portraying uptight Lisa on the defunct sitcom "News Radio." Her big-screen credits include "Primal Fear," "Liar Liar," "Primary Colors," "Insomnia" and "Welcome to Mooseport."
