Eva Mendes and Christina Campbell have signed on for "Cleaner," a thriller Renny Harlin hopes won't be confused with the January bomb "Code Name: The Cleaner."
The "Cleaner" stars Samuel L. Jackson as a former cop who cleans up after crime scenes. After he inadvertently helps to cover up a murder, Jackson's character finds himself working with the wife (Mendes) of the slain main, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Keke Palmer ("Akeelah and the Bee") plays Jackson's daughter, with Campbell ("88 Minutes") as her coach. What kind of coach? The trade paper doesn't say.
Ed Harris will also appear in the Millennium Films and Anonymous Content production, which began production in Louisiana on Monday (Jan. 29).
Mendes, whose credits include "Hitch," will next be seen with Nicolas Cage in February's "Ghost Rider" and opposite Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix in "We Own the Night."Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
