'Buffy' Star Cliques With 'Gossip Girl'

If you're young, beautiful, a former magical key and just out of rehab, where would you go? GossipGirl knows.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum Michelle Trachtenberg will appear in a multepisode arc on The CW's "Gossip Girl," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Trachtenberg will play Georgina Sparks, a character conceived in the Cecily von Ziegesar books on which the series is based. When Georgina leaves rehab for Manhattan, she creates drama for reformed party girl Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), who shared a past with the newcomer.

It was rumored that executive producer Josh Schwartz was bringing in Mischa Barton, the former star of his hit series "The O.C.," to take the role, but she turned it down.

Trachtenberg will try to conjure up some ratings magic for "Gossip Girl" by timing her arc for May sweeps.

The 22-year-old actress is best known as Buffy's sister/not-a-sister Dawn on three seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Her most recent credits include "Ice Princess," "Black Christmas" and the upcoming comedy "Seventeen Again" opposite Zac Efron.

On TV, she's made guest appearances on "House," "Six Feet Under" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," starred in the telefilm adaptation of Ann Packer's novel "The Dive From Clausen's Pier" and has signed on to shoot a Washington D.C.-set comedy pilot for ABC.
