Bela Lugosi

Bela Lugosi is shorthand for old-school horror -- and goth kids everywhere have shuffled to the song "Bela Lugosi's Dead." But his last film was more horrible than horror -- the legendarily bad Ed Wood flick "Plan 9 From Outer Space." The footage of Lugosi skulking around graveyards was filmed shortly before he died of a heart attack at age 73. Wood spliced it into his opus -- and enlisted his wife's chiropractor as a stand in for Lugosi, even though he looked nothing like the actor.
