A practical manual written by a Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute doctoral candidate is about to be Mike Myers' new high concept comedy.
According to Variety, Myers is attached to star in "How to Survive a Robot Uprising," a comedy set up at Paramount by producer Michael DeLuca.
"Reno 911" veterans Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant wrote the script based on the aforementioned manual by Daniel H. Wilson. Myers will play a technical administrator entrusted with keeping an eye out to prevent, as you might guess, a robot uprising.
The long-absent Myers was last heard as the title character in 2004's "Shrek 2" and he last appeared onscreen in 2003's "The Cat in the Hat." The "Austin Powers" star has long been linked to a rock biopic about The Who playing Keith Moon, though it's unclear how far along that project really is. Myers is also return to everybody's favorite green ogre for vocal duties on "Shrek 3."
