Naomi Watts, who is expecting a child this year, is eyeing a motherly role for her next project.
The Aussie actress is attached to star in "We Are All the Same," reports Variety.
Based on the novel of the same name by "Nightline" correspondent Jim Wooten, the story centers on Gail Johnson (Watts), a white South African woman who adopts Nkosi, a black child with AIDS, and travels internationally to gain the support for Nkosi's Haven, a home for women and children with AIDS in South Africa.
The adaptation was penned by "Hotel Rwanda" co-writer Keir Pearson.
Watts, 38, starred in "King Kong," "The Ring" and "21 Grams." She next stars opposite Viggo Mortensen in David Cronenberg's "Eastern Promises," a mystery thriller due out in the fall.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
