It seems so far away and somewhat anticlimactic, but Nicole Kidman did indeed get married to Keith Urban Down Under this weekend without any reported problems.
The Oscar-winning actress said "I do" to the Grammy winner in a candlelit ceremony in Sydney late Sunday, June 25, report news sources.
Kidman, 39, wore a Balenciaga gown, while Urban, 38, wore a black suit with a white rose in his lapel. The couple opted for a traditional Roman Catholic ceremony with all the traditional vows.
Among the notables at the wedding were Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts and media mogul Rupert Murdoch. After the wedding, Urban surprised his blushing bride by serenading her with an acoustic rendition of his song, "Making Memories of Us."
Now that the wedding has passed, Australian media is speculating where the couple plans to spend their honeymoon. Likely choices include Tahiti or Fiji, although Kidman might opt to avoid Fiji since she often vacationed with ex-hubby Tom Cruise there. Kidman and Urban were seen boarding her private jet Monday night.
Kidman, who won an Oscar playing Virginia Woolf in "The Hours," next portrays another real-life person, photographer Diane Arbus in "Fur." She's currently shooting an untitled project for "The Squid and the Whale" filmmaker Noah Baumbach in New York and then will film Wong Kar Wai's update of Orson Welles' thriller "The Lady From Shanghai."
Urban became the first artist to win Male Vocalist of the Year (2004, 2005), Entertainer of the Year (2005) and the Horizon Award (2001) at the Country Music Association Awards. He also won a Grammy in 2005 for best male country vocal performance.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
