'Office' Worker Punches in for 'Rocker'

"The Office" actor Rainn Wilson is with the band.

The busy star has signed on to headline "The Rocker" for "The Full Monty" director Peter Cattaneo.

According to Variety, the story centers on a failed drummer (Wilson) who gets another chance to make a name for himself. The comedy, originally written by Ryan Jaffe, is a modern-day take on Pete Best, the guy who prematurely left the Beatles before they hit it big.

Fox Atomic is aiming for a June start date, during Wilson's hiatus from "The Office."

Wilson, best recognized as Dwight Schrute on the NBC sitcom, has also been linked to a few other upcoming projects: "Bonzai Shadowhands," "Girlfriend Experience" and "Kanan Rhodes: Unkillable Servant of Justice." His previous film credits include "Galaxy Quest," "Almost Famous," "Sahara," "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and "The Last Mimzy."
