CBS Is Nobody's Fool Sunday

CBS took the overall Nielsen crown on Sunday, but ABC managed to grab the biggest slice of the demographic pie.

The April Fool's Day numbers have CBS on top with a 6.6 rating/11 share in primetime. ABC took second with a 5.9/10, beating out NBC's 5.2/9. FOX, 3.4/6, was fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.1/2.

ABC led among adults 18-49, scoring a 3.3 rating in the demographic advertisers love. CBS, 2.8, came in second, followed by FOX, 2.6, and NBC, 2.2. The CW managed only a 0.6.

CBS' "60 Minutes" easily won the 7 p.m. hour with a 7.4/14. "America's Funniest Home Videos," 4.8/9, put ABC in second. NBC finished third with "Dateline," 4.2/8. Two episodes of "The War at Home" averaged 2.2/4 for FOX. The CW went with a "One Tree Hill" rerun.

"Dateline," 6.0/10, gave NBC the lead in households at 8 p.m., although ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" repeat had more viewers. The first half of a two-hour "Amazing Race: All-Stars" posted a 5.1/8 for CBS. FOX stayed in fourth with "The Simpsons," 4.0/7, and "King of the Hill," 3.9/6. The CW got a 1.2/2 from "7th Heaven."

ABC and NBC switched places at 9 p.m., with a "Desperate Housewives" clip show (6.6/10) leading in households and "Deal or No Deal" (6.5/10) drawing more viewers. The second hour of "The Amazing Race" improved to 5.5/8. A "Family Guy" rerun, 4.2/7, and "American Dad," 3.7/6, kept FOX in front of an "America's Next Top Model" rerun on The CW.

CBS regained the top spot at 10 p.m. thanks to "Cold Case," the night's most-watched show at 8.3/14. "Brothers & Sisters" scored a 6.5/11 for ABC, while "The Apprentice" delivered a 4.1/7 for NBC.

On Saturday, CBS' coverage of the Final Four dominated the night with a 7.8/14. NBC took second with a 4.5/8, followed by FOX, 3.8/7, and ABC, 3.0/6.
