CBS Rises Above Friday Pack

Fast National ratings for Friday, June 1, 2007

The Big Four networks were tightly bunched together Friday, but CBS managed to pull out a ratings win with its lineup of dramas.

CBS earned a 4.2 rating/8 share for the night to finish a little ahead of its rivals. There was a three-way tie for second in households, with ABC, FOX and NBC all averaging 3.7/7. The CW drew a 2.4/5.

FOX took the top spot among adults 18-49 with a 1.9 rating. ABC's 1.6 was good for second place, followed by CBS, 1.5; NBC, 1.4; and The CW, 1.2.

A "Ghost Whisperer" rerun, 3.7/7, on CBS won the 8 p.m. hour over "America's Funniest Home Videos," 3.5/7, on ABC. NBC was right behind with "1 vs. 100." The FOX special "TV's Funniest Moments" scored a 3.2/6, while "Friday Night Smackdown!" delivered a 2.2/4 for The CW.

CBS held the lead at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 4.4/8. FOX snagged second as "TV's Funniest Moments" improved to 4.2/8. A repeat of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged 3.4/6 for NBC, topping "National Bingo Night" on ABC. "Smackdown!" rose to 2.5/5 in its second hour.

At 10 p.m., CBS' "Numb3rs" earned a narrow win with a 4.6/8. ABC's "20/20" and a "Law & Order" rerun on NBC tied for second at 4.3/8.
