CBS Is Repeat Offender Sunday

A night of crime on CBS paid off in a ratings win Sunday as its drama repeats held off NBC's Princess Diana-fueled lineup.

CBS averaged a 4.7 rating/9 share in primetime, beating out NBC's 4.4/8 for the top spot. ABC, 3.0/6, finished third. FOX, 2.1/4, was fourth, and The CW hardly registered at 0.8/1.

Although its overall numbers were relatively meager, FOX managed to win the adults 18-49 race with a 1.7 rating. NBC was right behind at 1.6. ABC and CBS tied for third at 1.4, and The CW fell well below the 1.0 mark.

CBS started the night with "60 Minutes," 4.8/10, at 7 p.m. ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" and NBC's "Dateline" tied for second in households at 3.7/8, with ABC drawing more total viewers. "The Loop" and "King of the Hill" averaged 1.3/3 for FOX, good enough to beat two episodes of "Reba" on The CW.

"The Concert for Diana" earned a 5.9/11, the night's best rating, for NBC at 8 p.m. A "Shark" repeat on CBS dropped into a second-place tie with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 3.5/6, on ABC. A "Simpsons" rerun, 2.9/6, and "The Loop," 2.0/4, kept FOX in fourth, ahead of The CW's "7th Heaven" rerun.

At 9 p.m., CBS reclaimed the lead with "Cold Case," 5.5/10. A "Law & Order" rerun on NBC took second at 3.9/7. ABC's "Desperate Housewives" rerun, 2.6/5, was third in households, but FOX had a few more viewers with "Family Guy," 3.0/5, and the finale of "The Loop," 1.9/3. "Supernatural" finished the night for The CW.

"Without a Trace" posted a 5.0/10 for CBS at 10 p.m. "Law & Order: SVU" earned a 3.8/7 for NBC, and ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" repeat came in at 2.1/4.

CBS led a quiet Saturday night with a 4.4/8. FOX finished second at 3.0/6, followed by ABC, 2.8/6, and NBC, 2.2/5.
