Fast National ratings for Monday, Aug. 7, 2006
As it usually does, CBS left its rivals scrambling for second place in Monday's overall ratings. FOX, however, managed to match the Eye in the race for younger viewers.
CBS averaged a 6.4 rating/11 share for the night, easily beating FOX's 3.9/7. ABC came in third with a 3.6/6. NBC, 3.1/5, finished fourth, and UPN, 1.3/2, edged The WB, 1.2/2, for fifth.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 2.9 rating tied CBS for the top spot. ABC was third at 1.9, a little ahead of NBC's 1.7. UPN and The WB both fell below 1.0.
Reruns of "Two and a Half Men, 5.8/10, and "How I Met Your Mother," 5.0/8, gave CBS the lead at 8 p.m. ABC took second with "Wife Swap," 4.5/8. A repeat of last week's "Hell's Kitchen" scored a 3.0/5 for FOX. NBC got a 2.8/5 from an episode of USA's "Psych" -- which is about what the show usually draws on cable. A rerun of "7th Heaven" on The WB finished in a virtual tie with UPN's "One on One" and "All of Us."
CBS held the lead at 9 p.m. with a second "Men," 7.0/11, and "Old Christine," 5.5/9. FOX jumped up to second with a new "Hell's Kitchen," 4.9/8. "Supernanny" posted a 4.1/7 for ABC, while NBC's "Treasure Hunters" built a little on its lead-in, earning a 3.1/5. "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" moved UPN ahead of The WB, which went with another "7th Heaven."
