TV Ratings: CBS Reruns Rise Monday

Fast National ratings for Monday, Dec. 1, 2008

With November sweeps over and "Dancing with the Stars" on its winter break, the Nielsen ratings took a plunge on Monday.

CBS ended the night on top, averaging a 6.5 rating/10 share and just under 10 million viewers. ABC finished second at 5.3/8. NBC, 4.0/6, beat out FOX, 3.6/5, for third, and The CW trailed with a 1.8/3.

CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 2.9 rating, narrowly beating ABC's 2.7 and NBC's 2.6. FOX averaged 2.2 in the demographic, while The CW drew a 1.2.

A pair of Christmas specials, "Shrek the Halls" (6.2/10) and "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (6.1/9), put ABC on top at 8 p.m. Reruns of "The Big Bang Theory," 5.1/8, and "How I Met Your Mother," 5.2/8, came in second for CBS. "Chuck" earned a 4.5/7 for NBC. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" was fourth for FOX, and "Gossip Girl" drew a 2.1/3 for The CW.

"Two and a Half Men," 8.6/13, and "Worst Week," 5.3/8, moved CBS to the lead at 9 p.m. "Heroes," 4.9/7, came in second for NBC (and led the hour among adults 18-49). An hour of "Samantha Who?," 4.3/6, suffered a letdown without a "Dancing" lead-in on ABC. "Prison Break" scored a 3.5/6 for FOX, while "Privileged" had a not-so-successful Monday tryout on The CW.

At 10 p.m., a "CSI: Miami" repeat delivered a 7.5/12 for CBS. "Boston Legal," 5.4/9, took second for ABC, doubling up on the 2.7/4 for "My Own Worst Enemy" on NBC.
