Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe Officially Single

The combo of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe are legally no more.

The former Hollywood couple have officially dissolved their marriage and are now single in the eyes of the courts, report various celebrity news sources.

The documents, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Oct. 5, read, "Marital or domestic partnership status terminated and the parties are restored to the status of single persons."

Witherspoon, 31, filed for divorce on November 8, 2006 citing "irreconcilable differences." Neither party have commented specifically on the reasons for the split, although it's been suggested that Phillippe had an affair with his "Stop Loss" co-star Abbie Cornish, who denies the affair. Since Witherspoon and Phillippe's separation, however, he has been seen with Cornish, and Witherspoon had dated her "Rendition" co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.

For the divorce to be official and finalized, however, the couple must settle their finances and custody arrangements over daughter Ava, 8, and son Deacon, turning 4 this month. Both parties are seeking a shared custody arrangement.

Phillippe, 33, met Witherspoon at her 21st birthday party. They married and co-starred in "Cruel Intentions" in 1999.

Witherspoon won an Oscar last year for "Walk the Line," while her husband co-starred in the ensemble drama "Crash," which won best picture that same night. "Rendition" opens wide on Friday, Oct. 19, while "Stop Loss" hits theaters in March 2008.
