Ray Romano is eying his next television role and his potential collaborators may surprise you.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Everybody Loves Raymond" star is looking to team up with "24" creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran on a limited run comedy series for HBO.
The premise for the 10-episode series focuses on a fortysomething billionaire with six months to live. The project, set up at 20th Century Fox TV, would be written by Dennis Klein ("The Larry Sanders Show").
The trade paper says that Romano, Cochran and Surnow pitched the show to HBO a while back, but that development discussions only heated up recently.
If the show goes forward, Klein, Romano, Cochran and Surnow would all executive produce.
Winner of multiple Emmys during his time as star and producer on CBS' "Raymond," Romano was most recently heard reprising his role as Manny the Mammoth in "Ice Age: The Meltdown."Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
