"It's not a game. It's not a competition," series executive producer Greg Goldman told reporters. "More than anything else, it's a huge social experiment where each week we take a millionaire and, you know, we cut them off from everything. No money, no credit cards, no cell phone, no access to anyone in their world and we drop them into, you know, an economically challenged community where they have to live that life for a week and it was really challenging. It was really difficult just to just make ends meet, just to afford money for their rent, just to put food on the table. And in addition to that, you know, having the challenge of having to look for people to give money to, looking for local heroes, looking for people who give back, looking for people that have amazing, against-all-odds stories that are so inspirational and touching that they move you."

During its run, "Secret Millionaire" will preempt "'Til Death" and "Do Not Disturb" for three Wednesdays and "Bones" for one. On Thursdays, "Kitchen Nightmares" will air at 8 p.m., preempting "The Moment of Truth" for two weeks.
