Star Jones Reynolds would like to clear up the confusion about a blood transfusion she received as a result of plastic surgery.
"The View" co-host called the daytime talk show Monday, March 27 to inform the viewers that she wasn't near death after her breast lift and implant operation more than a week ago.
"I did not almost die," says Jones Reynolds. "I mean there is nothing worse than sitting in a bed watching a scroll across the TV that says 'Star Jones faces death.' I went, 'Oh, my God, I did?'"
She checked into a Santa Monica hospital on Friday, March 17 to have a breast lift and implants because her bosom was less than perky after her significant weight loss. The on-air personality merely had a blood transfusion because of her anemia, a condition the doctors were aware of.
Apparently, the transfusion and operation went as planned.
"Well, let's just put it like this: Friday was my 44th birthday but my [breasts] think they're still 20," she says.
Jones Reynolds is expected to be healed enough to resume taping of "The View" next week.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
