Timothy Hutton Joins 'The Ghost'

"The Ghost" is getting some "Leverage."

Timothy Hutton, star of TNT's crime series, has signed on to the cast of Roman Polanski's political thriller. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hutton will play the American lawyer of a former British prime minister.

Robert Harris' original novel follows the life of said British prime minister as told to a ghostwriter, interwoven with a murder story concerning the politician's aide. The author came under fire after publication thanks to similarities between his characters and the inner circle surrounding former prime minister Tony Blair. Pierce Brosnan will step into the role of the prime minister, and Ewan MacGregor has been tapped as the ghostwriter.

Tom Wilkinson and Jim Belushi also recently joined the cast.

Hutton, 48, can be seen this spring in "Lymelife."
