Way to promote the most boring part of the 'Spider-Man' mythology

"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" finally opens Tuesday (June 14) after months of mishaps and budget overruns. To promote the musical, stars Reeve Carney and Jennifer Damiano performed "If the World Should End." So, let us get this straight - in order to drum up interest in your show that has been plagued by bad publicity, you put on a slow schmaltzy romance number between Peter and Mary Jane, which is the most boring part of "Spider-Man" anyway? That seems like a bang-up idea.At least the intro by The Edge and Bono featured Bono quipping, "We used to be famous for being in U2," which got a hearty laugh from the audience (and us viewers!). -- Andrea Reiher, Zap2it
