Fast National ratings for Monday, May 25, 2009
Memorial Day brought NBC a rare ratings victory among total viewers, although CBS' slate of reruns did slightly better in the demographic race.
NBC led the night with a 4.8 rating/8 share and 7.34 million viewers, edging the 4.6/8 and 7.23 million viewers for CBS. ABC came in third with a 3.8/6. FOX, 3.3/6, finished fourth, while The CW drew a modest 0.8/1.
CBS led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.1. ABC was right behind at 2.0, followed by NBC, 1.8, and FOX, 1.6. The CW was well behind the pack at 0.4.
"Dateline NBC" scored a 4.6/8 to lead the 8 o'clock hour. "The Bachelorette," 3.8/7, put ABC in second. Repeats of "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother" averaged 3.5/6 for CBS, finishing a little ahead of a "House" rerun on FOX. The CW got a 0.9/2 from its "One Tree Hill" rerun.
CBS took the lead at 9 with reruns of "Two and a Half Men," 5.7/9, and "Rules of Engagement," 4.6/7. "Dateline" fell one spot to second with a 4.8/8. "The Bachelorette" ticked up to 4.2/7, keeping ABC in front of FOX's "Bones" encore, 3.5/6. The CW aired a second hour of "One Tree Hill."
