Fast National ratings for Thursday, May 28, 2009
FOX's second night of "So You Think You Could Dance" auditions did well ... but not enough to beat CBS' trio of procedurals in repeats.
FOX owned the adult 18-49 demo, however, with its 3.6 far in front of second-place CBS' 2.0/6. ABC averaged 1.5, followed by NBC, 1.4, and The CW, 0.5.
CBS kicked off the night at 8 p.m. with a 6.3/11 for its "NCIS" repeat, while FOX's Los Angeles and Seattle auditions for "So You Think You Can Dance" drew a 5.0/9. ABC's first hour of the National Spelling Bee came in third with a 3.2/6, NBC's "My Name Is Earl" and "30 Rock" repeats averaged 2.2/4 for fourth. Last place went to The CW's "Smallville" repeat, 1.0/2.
CBS maintained its lead with a "CSI" repeat, 6.7/11 at 9 p.m., while FOX's second hour of terpsichorean travails earned a 5.9/10. ABC continued with its spelling bee coverage, 3.8/6, followed by NBC's encores of "The Office" and "30 Rock," averaging 2.1/4. The CW trailed with a "Supernatural" repeat.
"Without a Trace," 6.7/12, kept CBS in the lead at 10 p.m., while the end of the spelling bee combined with "Grey's Anatomy" averaged a 3.5/6 for ABC. NBC finished the night with a double dose of "The Office," 2.4/4.
