Fast National ratings for Sunday, June 7, 2009
The second game of the NBA Finals scored solid ratings for ABC Sunday, giving the network a win over CBS.
ABC averaged a 6.1 rating/11 share for the night with its live NBA broadcast, topping the 5.1/9 for second-place CBS. NBC, 3.2/6, came in third overall, a point ahead of FOX's 2.2/4. The CW was in the back of the pack at 0.6/1.
ABC dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.2 rating. FOX was the best of the rest at 1.7, followed by CBS at 1.3. NBC averaged 1.0 and The CW 0.3.
CBS led at 7 p.m. with "60 Minutes," 5.8/12. " Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night" and the NBA pre-game show delivered a 4.2/8 for ABC. "Dateline," 3.0/6, put NBC in third. FOX averaged 1.4/3 with reruns of "King of the Hill" and "American Dad." The CW aired its usual "Jericho" repeat.
ABC took over at 8 as Game 2 of the NBA Finals drew a 5.9/11. The 63rd annual Tony Awards scored a 5.1/9 for CBS, a substantial improvement over last year's telecast. "Dateline" improved to 4.4/8 for NBC. "The Simpsons," 2.5/5, and "King of the Hill," 2.3/4, kept FOX in fourth, ahead of the movie "Kiss the Bride" on The CW.
The Los Angeles Lakers- Orlando Magic game rose to 6.4/11 at 9 p.m. The Tony Awards dipped slightly to 4.9/8. FOX moved up to third thanks to "Family Guy," 3.1/5, and "American Dad," 2.7/4. NBC's miniseries "The Last Templar" was close behind at 2.8/5. "Kiss the Bride" brought up the rear for The CW.
The Lakers-Magic game scored its best numbers (7.8/14) at 10 p.m. The Tony Awards wrapped up with a 4.6/8, and "The Last Templar" drew a 2.6/5 for NBC.
