TV ratings: FOX does a victory 'Dance' Wednesday

The first round of finalists' performances on "So You Think You Can Dance" carried FOX to a ratings win Wednesday night.

FOX averaged a 5.3 rating/9 share and 8.7 million viewers for the night. CBS took second in households with a 4.7/8, but ABC, 4.1/7, had more viewers (7.17 million to 6.8 million for CBS). NBC, 3.2/6, was fourth, and The CW was once again at the back of the pack with a 0.8/1.

FOX also topped the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.3 rating. ABC finished second in the advertisers' favorite demo with a 2.4. NBC, 1.7, came in third, followed by CBS, 1.5, and The CW, 0.5.

"So You Think You Can Dance" delivered a 5.1/9 at 8 p.m. "Wipeout," 4.6/8, put ABC in second. NBC's "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" and CBS' duo of "Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" each averaged 3.1/6, with NBC bringing in more viewers. The CW aired an "America's Next Top Model" rerun.

FOX stayed on top at 9 as "So You Think You Can Dance" improved to 5.6/9. A "Criminal Minds" rerun on CBS also drew a 5.6/9 but had fewer viewers than both FOX and another "Wipeout" (4.8/8) on ABC. "I'm a Celebrity" ticked up to 3.2/5 for NBC. A "Hitched or Ditched" rerun ended the night for The CW.

"CSI: NY," 5.5/10, moved CBS into the top spot at 10 p.m. NBC's "Law & Order" rerun, 3.3/6, beat out "The Unusuals" (2.9/5) on ABC for second.
