We admire this man so much that we're currently enrolled in Trump University studying the special report "Five Trends That Can Make You Rich in Real Estate Today!" That's right, the Donald. He of "The Apprentice."
Now, luckily, we can do even more to emulate the man who's only rival in the world of egos is Kim Jong Il. That's right, kids, the Donald has taken a step toward immortality by lending his name to a line of men's clothing. Like Johnny Carson and Arnold Palmer before him, Trump has recognized that his personal style is admired by men without the financial wherewithal to date supermodels or pick fights with Rosie O'Donnell.
Available at fine retailers nationwide, the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection features men's suits, neckwear, dress shirts, cuff links, small leather goods, eyewear, sportswear and timepieces with a surprisingly subtle touch. OK, maybe not the cuff links, but everything else is so un-Trump you'll be hard-pressed to not use the word stylish.
Take, for example, his navy three-button suit jacket: "a high, three-button front with straight cut lengthens the torso and provides a handsome fit." Yes, we stole that from the Macys.com Web site because we can't argue with it. With notched lapels, chest welt pocket - the upper pocket used for pocket squares - front flap pockets and three interior pockets - perfect to hold pink slips and prenups - the jacket is professional and elegant. You could walk into any boardroom and fire someone's no-good butt, confident that you've made the right decision - sartorially speaking.
And the price is right, too: Suits and separates range from approximately $90 to $500. Neckties are designed by Italian Woven Silk Studios and feature muted patterns and tones preferred by Trump in the 21st century. Dress shirts include the "Boardroom Essentials" line, which feature spread collars and French cuffs - that's how you sell the cuff links - in soft cotton priced around $45.
As for the timepieces - also known as watches - they, too, are surprisingly elegant ... until you get to the glaring "Trump" triumphantly perched on the face. In gold tones and stainless steel, the watches range from refined sport to the classic executive dress watch. But don't expect to get one of these upon retiring. You'll hear the words "You're fired!" long before Trump just hands one of these over to you.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
