It's about time, truebelievers.

Legendary superhero creator Stan Lee, the late George Harrison and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the celebrities who will be honored in 2008 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Johnny Grant, Hollywood's honorary mayor, announced the list of honorees on Wednesday, June 20.

The Walk of Fame Committee is responsible for selecting the inductees for this honor from hundreds of nominations after which the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce board ratifies the selections. The stars are awarded to entertainers in film, TV, live theater and recording.

Lee, the creator of such popular characters as Spider-Man, recently signed a first-look deal with Disney. Joining Lee are fellow motion picture inductees Angela Bassett ("What's Love Got to Do With It?"), "Elizabeth" star Cate Blanchett, Tim Robbins, the Munchkins from 1939's "The Wizard of Oz," and the showbiz makeup family the Westmores of Hollywood.

Representing the small screen are the late Brian Keith, "Deal or No Deal" host Howie Mandel, Susan St. James, Bill Geist, Kate Linder, Sherwood Schwartz and Vince McMahon.

Other recording artists honored will be Christina Aguilera and the country duo Brooks & Dunn. Stephen Schwartz is the lone inductee for live theater.
