In less than two weeks, the Lakers will reconvene for training camp.

On Sept. 29, the franchise is scheduled to host media day at its practice facility in El Segundo.

The Lakers are then to host the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 6 at the Valley View Casino Center for the team’s first preseason game.

Coming off their worst record since moving to Los Angeles (27-55), the Lakers expect to rebound in the 2014-15 season, starting on Oct. 28 at home against the Houston Rockets.

First, the Lakers are set to play eight exhibition games, including two at Staples Center (Oct. 9 vs. the Golden State Warriors and Oct. 19 vs. the Utah Jazz).

The team is also scheduled to visit Ontario’s Citizens Business Bank Arena (Oct. 12 vs. the Warriors and Oct. 22 vs. the Portland Trail Blazers) and Anaheim’s Honda Center (Oct. 16 vs. the Jazz and Oct. 21 vs. the Phoenix Suns).

The Lakers are set to close out the preseason on Oct. 24 in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena against the Sacramento Kings.

The team has a new coach (Byron Scott taking over for Mike D’Antoni) and hopes to have a healthy Kobe Bryant for the entire season. The all-star missed all but six games last season with knee and Achilles’ injuries.
