Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall is headed to the New York Jets from Chicago, and that likely means Percy Harvin will be shown the door.

According to multiple reports, the Bears and Jets agreed Friday on a Marshall trade, pending a physical exam of the player. The move, which has yet to be announced by either team, would save Chicago almost $4 million in salary-cap space.

Marshall, who struggled with ankle problems and sustained a bruised lung that caused him to miss the final three games last season, caught 61 passes for 721 yards with eight touchdowns in 2014. That broke a string of seven consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 yards receiving.

Marshall, 30, also had at least one locker room tirade and, like many people, questioned the contract of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

Adding him to the Jets could make the combustible Harvin expendable.
