Ducks sign center Shawn Horcoff for one season
The Ducks’ signing of center Shawn Horcoff was officially announced Friday as a one-year deal.
A hockey official familiar with the deal but unauthorized to discuss finances publicly said it was valued at $1.75 million.
Horcoff, 36, will provide the Ducks a respected voice on the ice and in the dressing room as well as help fill the void while veteran center Nate Thompson recovers from shoulder surgery after an injury in the regular-season finale.
Horcoff had 11 goals and 29 points with a plus-nine rating in 76 games for the Dallas Stars last season.
He also has a 50.2% success rate in faceoffs.
