The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre opened downtown in 1936 with a show featuring Greta Garbo. For 50 years it was the go-to performance venue in the city, and later hosted a long-running variety show. A restoration campaign launched in 2019 has now come to fruition, and the modernized venue is reopening with a performance by Cynthia Erivo.
