Drug Agents Detain Family by Mistake

United Press International

A prominent Mendocino County rancher and his family were held at gunpoint for eight hours by federal and state narcotics agents before the authorities realized they had raided the wrong home.

Kay Corsaut, a representative of the state's Department of Justice, acknowledged that the raid on Bill Hay's 11,000 sheep and cattle ranch, south of Point Arena, was a "mistake," but gave no further details.
