30 More Join Rent Strike:About 30 more Latino families, angered over poor housing conditions, joined a Santa Ana rent strike Monday and refused to pay rent for April. The families, who live in apartments at the intersection of West Highland and South Shelton streets, joined about 500 Latino tenants who have refused to pay rent at apartments at five sites in Santa Ana. The families decided to pay into an escrow fund until necessary repairs are made by landlords.
