Oceanside
A 13-year-old New York boy was fatally injured when he was struck by a car late Friday, police said. Witnesses said Jim Skokowski, who was visiting a relative in Oceanside, was running across North River Road at Calle Montecito when he was hit by a car driven by Carol Sharp, 40, of Oceanside.
Skokowski was rushed to Tri-City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Sharp had the green light and no charges have been filed, police said.
