Work Begins on Postal Site
Ground has been broken for a new general mail facility for the Los Angeles Post Office at Central Avenue and 68th Street, site of the former Goodyear Tire Co.
The structure will replace the mail processing facilities at Terminal Annex downtown and will contain 1.1 million square feet of interior space.
The site will include a vehicle maintenance facility and warehouse which will be the first to be completed in the fall of 1986. The postal facility is targeted for completion in 1988.
